Activities

Carnival Activities

Calling all circus folk to join us at St. John's Carnival 2018 for a day of family fun and games worthy of the center ring! Start training now so you’ll be ready for midway games and circus events.

Food

Acrobats performing at this level need fuel and we’ll have plenty to keep you going. Liberty Burger, Kona Ice and other tasty snacks will be on hand to provide you calories to burn in all of our circus events.

Entertainment

Our ringmaster will provide you with tunes to keep all the circus acts in harmony. You’ll want to move to the circus beat to keep those muscles loose and ready to play.

9th Annual St. John’s Tailgate BBQ Competition 
Both gold and blue wristbands will gain you entry into the Big Top tailgate area. These grill-masters have been training all year for this big day and are ready to bring their A game to this fierce competition. Enjoy secret recipes and family favorites from these St. John’s world class competitors. Do you think you have what it takes to bring home the prize? Then sign up to enter this premier event and share your medal-worthy recipes!

Midway Games
We’ve got games to keep everyone from clowns to lions tamers busy on our midway. Soccer, golf, archery and basketball are just a few of our events that you’ll want to try your hand at earning a prize.

Bungee Jump Quad Pod
Train for the trapeze by taking a swing on the Quad Pod. Catch some air as you work on your jumps and soar to new heights! (Ages 5 and up)

Zip Line
Fly across the circus grounds as you take a ride on the zip line! (Ages 5 and up)

Animals from Around the World
Little elephant trainers and trick riders in training will enjoy getting up close and personal with animals from around the world.

Bounce House 
Circus hopefuls will enjoy training in the bounce house.  as they bounce themselves to a great time! (6 and under)

Circus Mash Tent
The Circus life can be tough and we need world class trainers. Head on over to the Circus Mash Tent to practice bandaging yourself up and head back out on the playing field.

Obstacle Course
Feel the thrill of victory as you conquer the obstacle course! This challenge mirrors the excitement of a roller coaster so get ready for twisting turns and mountain climbing and be prepared to zip down the other side. With two rock climbs and two slides, it’s perfect for a race!

Sand Art
You can’t go to the circus and not bring home a souvenir! Make yourself a special memento at the sand art booth that commemorates this joyful event.

Airbrush Tattoos
Whether as a clown, a tiger, or something else, our tattoo artists will help you show your circus spirit with their air brush tattoos. Here’s your chance to get your favorite design as a keepsake you can wear home.

Circus Animal Hospital
We have exotic animals from around the world. Adopt an animal friend and tend to their needs in our animal hospital.

D1 Sports Training
Compete in drills and show off your skills!

Mr. Donavan
Mr. Donavan will warm up the kids and keep them moving.

Penalty Box
Send your opponents (or even your friends and teachers) to the penalty box for a brief time out of the action.

Wristbands

Carnival Wristbands

A wristband is required for all entrants over the age of two. There are two levels of wristbands at Carnival: the blue wristband for $10 and the gold wristband for $30. You may purchase wristbands online. You may also purchase wristbands and tickets at the door, where blue wristbands will be available for $15 and gold wristbands for $35.

Tailgate BBQ Competition

9th Annual Tailgate BBQ Competition

Who will be this year’s gold medal grillers? Grab your team, fire up your grill and get cooking for the 9th annual BBQ competition.

Grill Master Teams
Up to three members and one leader per team. See the tailgate rules.

Sign Up
Limited to 10 teams, so register today (scroll down to "Tailgate Team Entry").

Set Up
The evening of Friday, October 19, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Fire Up
Saturday, October 20, begin grilling as early as 6:00 a.m.

Clean Up
Grills must be completely removed by 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20. A Dallas police officer will be on duty throughout the duration of the event and cleanup.

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. The winning team name will be engraved on the official Grill Champion plaque on display in the school.

Judges
The 9th annual grill champions will be determined by a panel of judges.
