The Book Fair Is Coming!

Join us for the Parents Association’s annual Book Fair! We have tons of great choices for all ages and from all genres. Support the St. John’s library and get started on your holiday shopping all at once!

The Book Fair will take place in the library Monday, October 15 through Thursday, October 18 (conference day will be Wednesday, October 17), from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, (with extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday).

Volunteers

Book Fair wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful volunteers! Please consider coming out to help. See our SignUpGenius to choose a two-hour shift. We appreciate your support!

Pastries with Parents

On Tuesday, October 16, from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m., pre-k through first grade dads, moms, or special friends are invited to our annual Pastries with Parents (formerly known as Donuts with Dads)! Enjoy breakfast with your little one while browsing our amazing selection of books.

Classroom gifts

Honor a teacher by purchasing a book for his or her classroom. Look for classroom wish lists at Book Fair.

Birthday Books

Birthday Books are books purchased for the library during Book Fair to honor a child’s birthday, chosen from pre-selected titles. All Birthday Book recipients are invited to come to the library for a piece of birthday cake on a date after Book Fair ends. A $20 Birthday Book donation may be made in lieu of purchasing a physical book during the Fair. The recipient will still come for cake, but Ms. Powers will choose a book in that child’s honor at a later date.

Visiting Author

In May, 1st through 4th grades will host visiting author Jarrett J. Krosoczka, author of the Lunch Lady graphic novels, the Platypus Police Squad series, the “new class” of Jedi Academy books, and several picture booksSome of his books may be purchased at Book Fair, and students can bring them to school and get them autographed when he visits.

Special thanks for the hard work of the 2018 Book Fair co-chairs, Tammy Buck and Elizabeth McCoin, with support from assistant co-chairs Dani Bowen and Shay Ometz and librarian Jennifer Powers!
