The FACTS financial aid application portal for the 2020-2021 school year is open. For currently enrolled students, the deadline for application is Friday, December 6. In QUESO you wanted to know how you can help St. John’s and eat delicious queso read below! Mark Monday, November 11 through Sunday, November 17 down on your calendar and plan to visit one of our favorite neighborhood Mexican food restaurants, El Vecino. For our 2020-21 admission season, St. John’s will host a Saturday Open House for prospective students and their parents to gain a deeper understanding of our school’s dynamic learning environment and welcoming community. This fun and informative event will give prospective families many wonderful ways to get to know us as they engage with our faculty, leadership group, students, current parents and alumni. Our campus will be open from 9:30 a.m. to noon. We encourage you to share this information with anyone who is interested in our school or already going through the admission process.
The St. John's IDEA Lab is
It starts at 7 and goes until 7:50, with different grades having different days.
Tuesday – Fifth grade
Wednesday – Sixth grade
Thursday – Seventh grade
Friday – Eighth grade
This is a chance for students to come into the IDEA Lab and tinker, code, build, design,
Students will be dropped off at before care down in the cafeteria, check-in with the before care staff and come up to the IDEA Lab.
Please visit one of our neighborhood favorites, The Lot, for a St. John's Fundraiser on Tuesday, December 3. Plan to get dine in or pick up lunch or dinner all day long, and 15% of sales will be donated to the school. Don't forget to mention St. John's when you place your order, and be sure to enter to win a gift certificate while you're there!
Advent Carol services will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, December 10, for first through fourth grade students and their families. The first and second grade service will be held at 8:15 a.m. and the third and fourth grade service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Pre-k and kindergarten students will present their Lessons and Carols on Friday, December 13, from 2:15 p.m. to 2:35 p.m. in the chapel.
Thanksgiving break will begin Monday, November 25, and will continue through Friday, November 29. Classes will resume on Monday, December 2, at 8:00 a.m. Have a fun and safe Thanksgiving break!

Please note: Grandparents and Grandest Friends Day concludes at 10:30 a.m. for Lower School and 11:00 a.m. for Middle School. Students not leaving with their grandparents must be picked up by 11:30 a.m. There will be no after-school program or homework club.
Also: Eucharist will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, instead of the preceding Wednesday. Correspondingly, full-dress uniforms will be required on Friday, but not on Wednesday.
St. John’s will host an Early Childhood (pre-k and k) Admission Coffee on Wednesday, November 20, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. If you have friends or family who are exploring options for young children for the 2020-2021 school year, we would be eager to welcome them to join us for this informative event!
Dads are invited to assist with morning carpool Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22, 7:15 - 8:00 a.m. This is a fun, quick way to support the school by helping the little ones out of the cars. Choose a shift. In conjunction with this effort, the Crusader Club is once again hosting a coat drive. Please drop off new or gently used coats (infant through adult sizes) with one of the dads. A collection box will also be placed in the front reception area.
Upcoming Basketball Season:
October 29 and 30 for seventh and eighth grade boys and girls.
- Tuesday, October 29 from 3:45 – 5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 30 from 3:15 – 5:00 p.m. (Eighth graders in the musical will leave at 4:00 for rehearsal.)
November 4 and 5 will be for fifth and sixth grade boys and girls.
- Monday, November 4 from 3:45 – 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 5 from 3:45 – 5:30 p.m.
A few fifth and sixth graders may be asked to attend an additional practice on Thursday, November 7, in case we have room to move up players.
