Camp: Cooking Around the World Camp
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Description: Do you love to cook? Want to know more recipes? In this unique cooking class for young kids, students learn all about food: how to make it, how to make it safely, and how to use it for good! You’ll learn about food safety, meet new friends, and cook some (oven-less) recipes from all 6 inhabited continents. Everything you cook will be easy to make and suitable for after-school cooking: including Brazilian brigadeiros (Chocolate Truffles), Japanese onigiri (Rice Balls), and other finger-foods from Africa, Asia, and South America. During sessions, you and your friends will play fun cooking games, learn a few words from another culture, and learn about local games from the country we are immersing ourselves in. *Please note that this is a microwave only class for younger students*

Description: Find joy in the most popular game in the world, while learning positive team values and life lessons from St. John’s 2nd grade teachers and coaches, Mrs. Day and Mrs. Adler. Focusing on individual and team soccer skills, you will work on agility, ball-handling skills, fitness, and fun! Learn and practice soccer in a positive, relaxed environment with coaches the kids know and love!

Description: You and your favorite 18-inch companion are invited to this STEAM-studded, girl-powered camp! You and a STEAM Team of friends will design and deck out your very own Girls and Dolls houses and engineer a bubble bath pipeline for your spa. You’ll design doll fashions and engineer an unforgettable romp through the ages inspired some of the most popular historical dolls.

Description: Join St. John's teacher and artist, Chancey Canon, for a week of exploration of major works of art through the ages and create paintings in the manner of artists like Monet, Van Gogh, Matisse, O’Keefe, Pollock, and Warhol. Students will learn about art movements beginning with the bold brush strokes of impressionism to the colorful graphic designs of Pop Art. Campers will work with acrylic paints, pastels, watercolors, ink, and more, to learn different techniques unique to each artist’s style. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and get ready to dip your brush into some bold color!


Camp: Roblox Coders and Entrepreneurs

Description: Discover the Lua language through a visual block coding system while designing worlds in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This new class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! Young entrepreneurs will also learn how to navigate ROBLOX’s fast-growing marketplace to publish their games. Student-created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.

Description: Glide on over to the coolest camp in town where you’ll take a STEAMtastic journey through Challenge Island’s Winter Wonderland! Your icy adventure will include designing and decking out your very own ice palace (where you and your STEAM Team can chillax) and using cool science to make frosty slime and frozen treats! This cool- as-ice camp is a not-to-be missed adventure for every frostbitten fan!


Camp: USTA NetGeneration Tennis Camp

Description: USTA NetGeneration tennis is a nationally recognized program designed to introduce young children to the sport. The program is designed to teach the fundamentals without courts through a curriculum focused on learning the basic skills. Each skill is combined with fun games and exercises to reinforce the learning experience.  The skills introduced are serve, volley, overhead, backhand/forehand. Tennis etiquette and rules of the game are also introduced during the camp. This is an ideal learning experience for children to gain confidence and interest. All equipment is provided by USTA.


Camp: Beginner Guitar Camp

Description: Strum along to your favorites in no time as you learn to play the guitar in a relaxed setting with your friends. You will learn the basics of the guitar, several chords, and strum patterns throughout the week.

Description: Have you ever wanted to play the nationally known game Dungeons and Dragons? Stretch your imagination telling stories with your friends, and build useful creative skills? What about play the game they do in Stranger Things? Well, this is your chance! In this camp, we’ll be exploring collaborative storytelling through Dungeons and Dragons. Along the way, we’ll develop social and emotional skills that will serve us well outside of the RPG.

Description: Unlock the power of ROBLOX® Studio, the world creation tool used by real-world ROBLOX® developers! Learn how to build 3D models and create an adventure in your ROBLOX® world. Description: This camp is tailor-made with our primary campers in mind. Join Greenhill Kindergarten Associate, Ursula Daniels, for a week of camp that is structured around a different theme and the art of play! Our mornings will be full of prereading activities, experiential learning through arts and crafts, story time, outdoor/indoor/water play, music, cooking, games, art, movement, and more! After lunch and a rest time, children will have the opportunity   for recess and structured centers activities. Our experienced primary instructors are looking forward to providing a safe environment for your child to explore and learn new things!


Camp: LEGO Mechanized Minecraft

Description: New Minecraft builds! Go way beyond regular LEGO brick packages to design and construct your home with working piston-activated doors to keep out remotely controlled Creepers. Collect gold, lapis, and emerald blocks and navigate your motorized minecart through the Netherworld. Every brave crafter leaves with a LEGO mini-figure and personalized backpack tag.

Description: Want to hang out and socialize with your friends, go fun places and do things that YOU want to do? Then join St. John’s Instructional Technologist, Mrs. Crouse, and 5th grade teacher, Mr. Patterson, for the greatest week ever! We will go to area waterparks, movies, and other adventures in the DFW area. Lunch is included in the price each day. The summer gets boring without your friends...grab them and come join the fun!
