Camp: Music and Movement

Description: Participating in music and movement at an early childhood helps young children express their feelings and emotions, learn to work in a group setting, and develop confidence and imagination. This class will help strengthen fine and gross motor skills and develop self-expression, all while having fun! Come and sing, play, and dance the morning away with Dallas Institute of Musical Advancement!

Description: Roller blade sponsored skate is on the forefront of new incentives to create fun, healthy sports for young children. The camp boosts youth fitness and self-esteem while emphasizing the development of long-term physical activities. Benefits of skating include cardiovascular endurance, coding muscles, aerobic conditioning with minimal shock to joints and bones. All equipment, including skates, knee and elbow guards, and safety helmets are included. Perfect entry level for all campers!

Description: Welcome to the wonderful world of DRAWING. We will spend the week doodling, sketching, cartooning and more. Campers will experiment with GRAPHITE and push their pencils into unknown territories! We will use graphite powder, water soluble graphite and ebony pencils to illustrate our own animal zoo book. COLOR PENCIL will be used to draw fruity rainbows onto shrinky dinks to create wearable art. Layers of OIL PASTEL will be built up, blended and scratched into to create whimsical nighttime landscapes on black paper. We will use CHARCOAL to explore form and shading through a study of our favorite summertime treat, an ice cream cone!

Description: Your mission: Design, build, and control your LEGO Blitz Bots to withstand the forces of daily NERF gun assaults in this fun, new spin on Battle Bots! Teams take turns getting past obstacles without getting hit and shooting at the advancing forces. Every warrior leaves with a LEGO mini-figurine and personalized backpack tag. Will you advance or take out the enemy?

Description: Find joy in the most popular game in the world, while learning positive team values and life lessons from St. John’s 2nd grade teachers and coaches, Mrs. Day and Mrs. Adler. Focusing on individual and team soccer skills, you will work on agility, ball-handling skills, fitness, and fun! Learn and practice soccer in a positive, relaxed environment with coaches the kids know and love!

Description: Have you ever wanted to be a Photographer? Well, this is your chance! In this camp, we’ll learn the basics of photography, in all of its forms. We’ll learn about composition, lighting and other core strategies that allow professionals to take incredible photos. We’ll also get to take pictures of campus, go on nature tours, and even create beautiful creations for local businesses! *Students will need to bring their own device with camera to camp with them daily. We will hold them when not in use.

Description: Do you love movies with exciting special effects, like The Avengers, Star Wars, or Harry Potter? Amaze your friends by swinging a lightsaber or blasting fire from your hands and becoming a master of the illusions used by Hollywood artists to create visual effects magic. Whether you want to enhance your YouTube videos or create a cool scene to amaze your friends; this class teaches the tools you need. Experiment with visual effects as you learn the dynamics of camera angles, editing, graphic layering, and sound effects. Then watch as your new creations take your channel content to the next level! Student projects are available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.

Description: Once upon a time in a not so far away land, Tippi Toes® planned a magical Fairy Tale Dance Camp. Princesses will come from near and far to spend time with magical princesses characters. Together they will dance, share stories, play games, attend the “beauty parlor” and work on special crafts. We end the week by inviting members of the Royal family to a ball on July 14th at 3:30 p.m.

Our mornings will be full of experiential learning through arts and crafts, story time, outdoor/indoor/water play, music, cooking, games, art, movement, and more! After lunch and a rest time, children will have the opportunity for recess and structured centers activities. Our experienced primary instructors are looking forward to providing a safe environment for your child to explore and learn new things! Please note this camp runs daily from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
