Camp St. John’s provides 3 recesses per day, weather permitting:

• Morning Snack and Recess
• Lunch and Recess
• Afternoon Snack and Recess

Schedule Changes and Cancellations
You can add to your camper’s schedule anytime during the summer, up until the Thursday at 12:00 p.m. before camp begins.

Lunch

Early Bird Care is available to everyone and no registration is needed. Campers may begin arriving as early as 8:05 a.m. each morning and camp will officially begin at 9:00 a.m.

Extended Day Care is available each week to support your child-care needs before and after specialty classes or day camps. Extended Day Care will include structured free play and craft activities. You can register for these options in the camp registration portal.

When a camp session is full, families may add their camper to the waitlist. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee placement, but it ensures your camper will be considered if a spot becomes available. Families may remove their camper from the waitlist at any time through their camp profile.

How the Waitlist Works

• Campers are added to the waitlist in the order requests are received.
• If a space opens, families will be contacted by email using the address on file.
• Families will have 24 hours to accept and complete registration for the available spot.
• If we do not receive a response within 24 hours, the spot will be offered to the next camper on the waitlist.

Communication Responsibility

• It is the family’s responsibility to monitor email and respond promptly.
• Camp St. John’s is not responsible for missed opportunities due to outdated contact information or delayed responses.

Registration & Payment

• Waitlisted campers are not enrolled until the family confirms acceptance and completes payment.
• Once payment is submitted, the camper is officially enrolled and removed from the waitlist.
• If the waitlisted camp is accepted and the camper is enrolled in another camp during the same time period, the existing registration will be canceled and the applicable refund will be processed.

Refund and Cancellation Policy  

We understand that summer plans can change quickly. Before canceling, consider switching to another camp week at Camp St. John's. We are happy to help reschedule your camp week at no additional cost. If you need to change your schedule, please contact the Director of Camp St. John's, Whitney West, who will assist with your request.

Cancellation requests made before May 15th: will receive a full refund, minus $50 per camp.

Cancellation requests made after May 15th and more than 15 days before the camp begins: will receive a 50% refund.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but refunds will not be issued for cancellations made within 14 days of the camp start date.

Please note that camps are subject to cancellation based on enrollment and environmental factors. If this occurs, camp administration will contact you in advance to discuss your options. 

At Camp St. John's, our top priority is the safety of our campers. To ensure each child's well-being, camp staff members are assigned to small groups. Outdoor activities will be limited to no more than 15 minutes when the heat index reaches 95 degrees or higher. A camp nurse will be on campus throughout the camp day to attend to campers, as needed. Faculty members, trained in first aid and CPR, are also on-site and available during camp hours. 

It is required that a camper’s health conditions, treatments, and medications be listed and explained in their camp profile. Please remember to list all camper allergies so we can best serve your child. Parents are required to provide an epi-pen, inhaler, or any emergency medication as needed. Medications should be dropped off with a counselor during carpool on the first day of camp each week. If your child is attending multiple weeks, you may leave the medications with us for the duration of the summer. Ensure all medications and bags are clearly labeled with your camper’s name and medication instructions. Parents may contact the Director of Camp St. John's, Whitney West, at any time to discuss their child’s health concerns.

For the safety and security of our campers and staff, visitors, including parents/guardians, will not be permitted inside School buildings or allowed to congregate on campus unless attending a final camp performance or showcase. All visitors attending a camp performance or showcase will require a visitor badge to enter the building. All drop-offs and pick-ups will take place outside. Forgotten items may be dropped off at the front desk by the flagpoles. The St. John's Security Team will monitor the campus throughout the day, including during carpool.

You will receive additional detailed carpool instructions in your Welcome Letter, which will be sent via email in mid-May.

For the safety and security of our campers, this information will be included in our Welcome Letter sent out via email on May 15, 2026, and in emails sent each week before camp begins. 

Camp St. John's and Camp Crews

St. John’s Episcopal School is nestled among towering trees and a serene creek in the heart of East Dallas. Our “front yard” is just a short walk from White Rock Lake, home to diverse wildlife and stunning scenery—a perfect spot to spend your summer days.

Camp St. John’s (CSJ) offers a rich variety of high-quality day camps while preserving many beloved traditions of traditional sleepaway camps. To foster a strong sense of community and belonging, Camp St. John’s has created “Camp Crews.” Honoring our natural surroundings and the wildlife we share our home with, we have named one Crew the Eagles and the other the Owls. On the first day of camp, new campers will be assigned to either the Eagles or Owls. Once a part of a Crew, campers enjoy a lifelong sense of pride and an immediate bond with their CSJ Camp Crew friends of all ages.

Whether an Eagle or an Owl, all campers will build lifelong friendships and strong bonds with fellow campers and counselors. Their summer at Camp St. John’s will be an unforgettable experience they will cherish for years to come.
