Athletics

Lessons for life

Starting in fifth grade, every student at St. John's is offered the opportunity to play sports and encouraged to be part of an athletic team.

We want all students—from accomplished athletes to those brave enough to try new sports—to gain the benefits of athletic participation. Playing on a team gives your child the experience of building relationships with teammates and coaches, developing skills and confidence, working hard, goal-setting and learning good sportsmanship.

Win or lose – our athletes gain so much by having the opportunity to play.

Fall Middle School Athletics

We invite all Middle School students to participate on St. John's athletic teams. This fall, we will field teams in volleyball (girls), soccer (co-ed), cross country (co-ed) and flag football (fifth and sixth grade boys; depending on interest). Volleyball is the only sport that practices before the first day of school.

  • The pre-season volleyball practice schedule is as follows; these practices will take place in the Main Gym.
    • Tuesday, August 13 - Friday, August 16, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
    • Monday, August 19, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
    • Tryouts begin Thursday, August 22, through Friday, August 23. They begin immediately after school and end at 5:30 p.m. Please note that all girls who participate in tryouts will make a team. Tryouts help coaches determine which team is best for each player.
