Please help us make our 2017 carnival an extraordinary event by getting involved. Carnival 2017: World of Adventure will be a day of family, fun and food, made possible by each of you. There are numerous ways to be involved. We hope you will join us on our school adventure.

Spirit Day

Spirit Day is Friday, October 13. Students may wear this year's official carnival T-shirt (or any St. John's or blue or gold shirt) with jeans, athletic pants or shorts. Pre-ordered T-shirts will be delivered to your child's locker or backpack on Wednesday, October 11.

Wristbands

Buy your wristbands and concession tickets online now. A $30 gold wristband is all-inclusive, giving you full access to games, rides and a delicious Burger House meal. Blue wristbands get you in the door with pay-as-you-go access to all activities and events. Wristbands and concession tickets are available online until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9. After this time, wristband prices increase by $5 each and must be purchased at the door. Everyone over the age of two must have a blue or gold wristband. All online purchases of wristbands and tickets will be delivered to lockers and backpacks on Wednesday, October 11.

Volunteers

Please volunteer to work a shift at your class-assigned booth during the carnival. Volunteers are also needed to lend a hand with setup before the event and cleanup afterward. See the SignUpGenius and choose a shift.

Bake Sale

Do you love to bake? Break out your best recipes for nut-free, homemade treats and sign up for the annual bake sale to show off your culinary skills. We also accept nut-free items purchased at bakeries or your local grocery store. Baked goods may be dropped off during morning and afternoon carpool on Friday, October 13. Sign up now. 

Friday ASP Pickup

Friday afternoon, the After School Program will release as usual from the lower school carpool desk. If you are picking up your child from ASP, please drive cautiously through the parking lot, as volunteers will be setting up for Carnival.

Parking

We have obtained a special event permit from the city for our event. With the permit, we are able to make use of several parking options Saturday afternoon and evening: 

• Limited parking will be available on the green space in front of the school and along Harter Road (Dallas Police officers and church volunteers will help direct traffic)
• You may also park along Peavy Road and enter through the school's back gate
• Dallas Academy has agreed to let us use its parking lot; please cross Buckner at the Lake Highlands Drive traffic light
• Parking is also available at the rugby fields and along Lake Highlands Drive
• Note that parking at the Lake Highlands Shopping Village (where Green Spot is located) is prohibited by the management company; they have posted signs and violators may be towed
