FILM FESTIVAL NOMINEES
Isabella Poscente ’15 is thrilled to share that she and her co-director, Emma Gallagher, and their DP, Maya Barlow, have just been nominated as finalists at the Bestlov Film Festival! She expressed, “It is such an honor to be recognized for our work, and we couldn't be more excited. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. It was an immense honor to work with @mheineman and our fellow filmmakers on a project of this magnitude. I will remain irrevocably changed by the experience. I hope and believe that The First Wave captures the pandemic within all its context and becomes an accessible part of the historical record of these times. THREE EMMY AWARDS ain’t bad either!!”
Isabella reflects on her First Wave Family:
“I remain in awe of the displays of courage, compassion, dedication and heroism by the frontline workers that we witnessed. Hopefully, this film will capture all the life that our world was immersed in and the best of what we call humanity in the midst of a seemingly unending tragedy. It can never do the frontline workers true justice, but perhaps it will provide a glimpse into a period of time where they defined who they truly are.”
