After School Program

After School at St. John's

We offer a fun and engaging After School Program for our students. Organized by grade, the fee-based program provides supervised activities for students from afternoon dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Activities include arts and crafts, computer games, building Lego and Kinix models, and monthly special events.

We perform community service by making sandwiches for Austin Street Center and cheery momentos for Autumn Leaves Assisted Living residents. Join us for these and many more fun activities. As part of the After School Program, we also provide fee-based drop-in care for St. John's students.

Pre-k Extended Day

Our Pre-k students may participate in a fee-based Extended Day Program. For morning Pre-k students, Extended Day operates from 11:45 a.m. until regular carpool dismissal time. For afternoon Pre-k students, Extended Day operates from 7:45 to 11:45 a.m. Pre-k students may also join the After School Program (and may participate in many of the optional classes) if parents require care beyond regular carpool dismissal time.

Student Pick Up

All students must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. A per-family fine of $5 a minute for the first five minutes and $1 for every minute thereafter is assessed when the carpool driver arrives. The After School Program operates only on REGULARY SCHEDULED SCHOOL DAYS. It is not available on the last school day before Thanksgiving, the last school day before Christmas holidays or on the last day of school.

Optional Classes

As part of the St. John’s After School Program, we are pleased to continue offering optional after-school classes in a variety of educational and instructive areas. Some classes require that a minimum number of students be enrolled for the class to be guaranteed, and others accept only a limited number of students.

Students attending the optional classes will report to the cafeteria at their regular dismissal time for attendance and a light snack before class begins. Students may attend the After School Program before or after their optional class for no additional charge.
