Athletics

The St. John's Athletics program emphasizes inclusiveness.

When students enter Middle School, all are encouraged to participate in our offerings. Although we don’t have tryouts, we assess students’ abilities and group them on appropriate teams.

The St. John’s Athletic department offers JIAA (Junior Independent Athletic Association) level of play for sixth graders, IAA (Independent Athletic Association) competition for intermediate athletes in seventh and eighth grades, and TAPS (Texas Association of  Private Schools) for our “varsity” level of play. We want all students to have a place to play and a level of competition at which they can achieve personal success. We find that multiple competition levels allow all Middle School students to experience the fun and challenge of playing on a school sports team.

Last year, we fielded teams in eight sports: Soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, tennis, track and golf.

Support our young athletes by attending a game.
