Middle School Musical Elective
Mrs. Haynes and Drama Specialist Mr. Tom Parr collaborate to stage Middle School musicals featuring seventh and eighth grade students.
Mr. Parr, integrated drama specialist and seventh and eighth grade theater director, runs the up-and-coming Nouveau 47 Theatre when he’s not teaching at St. John’s. He recently received recognition in national magazine The Dramatist as a “young, brilliant director” and was recognized as Best Director in the Dallas Observer's 2012 Best of Dallas Reader's Choice awards.
By seventh and eighth grades, students who choose to take the art elective have established a solid visual foundation from which they observe and describe their internal and external perceptions.
Seventh and eighth graders include electives in their daily study. Each student takes two elective courses per trimester. Read more about electives.
