After School Program
We offer a fun and engaging After School Program (ASP) for our students. Organized by grade, the fee-based program provides supervised activities for students from afternoon dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Activities include arts and crafts, computer and board games, building with LEGO bricks, and FUN Fridays.
We make provisions for students to complete homework as part of the ASP. Students may begin homework as soon as they arrive in the cafeteria, and a supervised study hall is available Monday through Thursday. As part of the ASP, we also provide fee-based, drop-in care for St. John's students.
Student Pick Up
All students must be picked up from the After School Program by 6:00 p.m. A per-family fine of $5 a minute for the first five minutes and $1 for every minute thereafter will be assessed when the carpool driver arrives after 6:00 p.m. The ASP operates only on REGULARY SCHEDULED SCHOOL DAYS. It is not available on the last school day before Thanksgiving, the last school day before Christmas holidays, Games Day or the last day of school.
As part of the After School Program, we are pleased to offer optional after-school classes in a variety of educational and instructive areas. Some classes require a minimum number of students, and others accept only a limited number of students.
Students attending the optional classes will report to the cafeteria at their regular dismissal time for attendance and a light snack before the optional class begins. Students may attend the ASP before and/or after their optional class for no additional charge.
Register your child for an optional class by printing and completing the contract. Return it along with your check made payable to St. Johnís Episcopal School.
If you have questions or need more information about the After School Program, please email Lani Jones or call 214-328-9131 x108.
Other Extended Day Activities
Our pre-k students are in class from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At no extra charge, pre-k students may participate in the After School Program until regular Lower School dismissal at 3:00 p.m. Students will be with their pre-k teachers during this time.
Middle School students may participate in Homework Club. Homework Club meets after school in a classroom for 45 minutes and is supervised by a Middle School faculty member. Students may drop into Homework Club as needed or be assigned based on academic need. Homework Club runs from Middle School dismissal until 4:30 p.m. (M, T, Th, F) or 4:00 p.m. (Wednesday). Please pick up your child at the Middle School carpool donut.
