Tulip Project
St. John's second graders partner with second graders at Gretna Green and Nelson Rural Elementary in New Brunswick, Canada. Our second grade teachers have been collaborating with this Canadian school since 2006. During that time, second graders have completed projects such as comparing and contrasting tulip planting and growth, engaging weekly in live weather reports via Skype, sharing the "Play with your Food" project, presenting poetry through videoconferences, exchanging self-portrait drawings and writing pen-pal letters. Students are excited to learn together and get to know their pen-pals.
