Teddy Bear Project
St. John's first graders partner with a rural school in Oxford, Ohio to exchange class teddy bears. Each week, one student takes the bear home and writes a diary message from the perspective of the visiting bear to describe experiences in this "new community." Our kindergarten classes connect with their partner classes via Skype videoconferences, which are displayed on our SMART Boards. During the Skype sessions, students compare the similarities and differences between living in urban and rural environments.
