Why St. John's

The first Episcopal School in Dallas, we were created as an outreach of St. John's Episcopal Church in 1953. Our campus occupies 10 acres in East Dallas, near White Rock Lake and centered in a family-friendly neighborhood. With a creek running through the property and plenty of old-growth trees, the setting provides a wealth of outdoor education opportunities. Our campus is purposely designed to foster dynamic learning, encourage academic excellence, and spur collaboration and community.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to a program of academic excellence designed to train the mind, strengthen the character and enrich the spirit of each student in a Christian environment.

Our Code

I am St. John's.
I am Respectful.
I am Responsible.
I am Honest.
I care.

Developing the Foundation for Each Student

Your child’s formative Lower and Middle School years will set the academic, physical, and moral foundation for the rest of your child’s life. At St. John’s, all our expertise and commitment is focused on developing an extraordinary foundation for each student.

Carefully Orchestrated Growth

Our carefully orchestrated curriculum integrates the right combination of academic challenge and guidance at each grade level as students progress from subject to subject and year to year. Our lively learning environment also allows children to be children. We cherish their innocence and eagerness to learn and organize all aspects of their education around what’s best for them.

At St. John’s, academic strength is just the beginning. Our students are not only taught to embrace and celebrate learning as a joyous, lifelong pursuit, but to proudly and courageously apply what they know, across all aspects of their lives. Our expertise in pre-k through eighth grade development means that every child experiences opportunities to stretch not only academically but also through leadership, service, athletics, and the arts.

At St. John’s, Middle School is a special time. Our students eagerly take on more responsibility because they see themselves as leaders and role models for the younger students. Academically, they are ready for more complex thinking, planning, and executing. Yet they develop at different paces physically and socially. No matter where they are, our middle schoolers benefit from more time in an accepting and safe environment. They need time, with loving guidance, to develop their own moral compass and independent decision-making before high school.

The Most Important Investment You’ll Make

When children love to learn throughout life, they will thrive in an unpredictable world. Students leave St. John’s well-rounded, articulate, resilient, and morally responsible individuals. They have the courage to think independently, critically, and creatively. They graduate prepared, confident, and with the conviction needed to navigate the complex path through high school, college, and beyond.

Now is the time to invest in your child, and St. John’s is the place.
